The Kansas City Chiefs are doing their part to ensure the No. 1 seed in the AFC, leading the Las Vegas Raiders by a commanding score of 24-3 at halftime. Patrick Mahomes is 14 of 17 for 175 yards in the first half while rushing for 16 yards, giving him the most total yards in a season in NFL history<\/span>. Mahomes passed Drew Brees for the all-time mark (Brees had 5,562 in 2011). <\/p>\n

Travis Kelce is also 96 yards away from passing his own single-season receiving yards record for tight ends (1,416). Kelce has three catches for 21 yards in the first half.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs got going early with a 67-yard pass from Mahomes to Justin Watson on the second play of the game. Mahomes found McKinnon for the two-yard score a few plays later to give Kansas City a 7-0 lead just 2:02 into the game. Kadarius Toney capped off a 98-yard scoring drive with an 11-yard touchdown run to build Kansas City’s lead up to 21-3 with 49 seconds left in the first half. Toney leads the Chiefs with 26 rushing yards. Ronald Jones also has a two-yard score in the first half for Kanas City. <\/p>\n

The Raiders also have some milestones to play for, as Josh Jacobs can become the first Raiders player to win the league rushing title since Marcus Allen in 1985. Davante Adams is 11 catches shy of breaking the franchise receptions record (Darren Waller had 107 in 2020 ) and two receiving touchdowns shy of tying the franchise receiving touchdowns record (Art Powell had 16 in 1963). Adams has two catches for 21 yards in the first half while Jacobs has 10 carries for 20 yards. <\/p>\n
