Prince Harry tackled a host of accusations in his latest tell-all interviews, from claims of “racism” in the royal family and his feud with brother William, to Camilla’s marriage to King Charles.

During one exchange with Bradby, Harry denied an accusation that he and his wife accused the royal family of racism during their interview with Oprah, claiming instead “the British press said that”.

When asked directly whether he would describe conversations that allegedly took place regarding the skin color of his and Meghan’s last Archie as “racist,” Harry said that he wouldn’t. “I wouldn’t, not having lived within that family,” he said, adding that he would refer to the comments instead as evidence of “unconscious bias”.

Prince Harry’s ITV interview achieves ‘disappointing’ ratings

The viewing figures for ITV’s Prince Harry interview have been released.

The duke’s tell-all interview with Tom Bradby, which aired last night (8 January) on ITV, was watched in the UK by 4.1 million people – around a third of the 11.1 million people who watched his and wife Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview in 2021 .

The ratings performance was described as “disappointing” by US entertainment publication deadline.

In the interview, Harry narrated controversial and startling excerpts from the book that, according to one royal biographer, “could mark the beginning of the end” of the monarchy.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may retreat for rest of the year now their story has been heard

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may retreat for the rest of the year as they have both told their sides of the story, the author of a biography on the couple has said.

Omid Scobie, co-author of Finding Freedom, said the frankness of Harry’s memoir Spare is the result of a man who for all of his life “hasn’t been able to share a word of it”.

But he added there is not really much else to say and so royal watchers can expect to see a shift in the months ahead.

Speaking about Harry, Mr Scobie told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “He’s watched other people tell that story over and over again, including journalists such as myself.

“I think this is Harry finally wanting to put his voice on the historical royal record.

“Of course, that does come with some downsides for those who have been part of his journey. We heard some sort of really startingling confessions and stories about members of the royal family, particularly when it comes to Camilla and her relationship with the press.

“This is really just Harry sort of pulling the curtain back on it all. We’re actually getting, I guess, the look behind palace walls that we’ve always wanted.”

Mr Scobie said Harry is clearly “very confident in the story that he’s telling” and that it has taken him a long time to get to this point.

Mr Scobie was asked if he gets the feeling from Harry and Meghan’s team that this is how they intend to continue, and he said he thinks the couple “have to be quite careful right now”, adding there has been a lot of focus on their private life recently and their brand has been “very much about drama” and a “soap opera” that has been played out publicly.

“I think we’re going to see, for the rest of this year, a couple sort of retreating from a lot of what we’ve seen over the last few months.

“They’ve both shared their sides of the story. Harry more in many, many ways, in more ways than we could have ever imagined.

“There isn’t really much else to say and so I think we will see a shift in the months ahead. That said, when it comes to talking about reconciliation, that is very difficult after the amount that he has shared in this book,” he said.

Harry claims he and Meghan never accused royals of racism Oprah – here’s what they actually said

Prince Harry has denied that he and Meghan accused a member of the royal family of racism during their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Duke of Sussex sat down for two broadcast interviews, with ITV and CBS, which were released on Sunday night ahead of the official publication of his ghostwritten memoir spareleaked extracts from which have dominated headlines.

Alongside intensely personal recollections relating to himself and his relatives, the reportedly contained in the book – due on Tuesday – include a physical attack by Prince William, and his brother’s supposedly hushed-up involvement in his infamous Nazi costume debacle.

Piers Morgan launches fresh attack on Prince Harry after ‘bitter’ ITV interview

Piers Morgan has posted a series of scathing tweets criticizing Prince Harry after the royal’s recent spate of interviews in promotion of his memoir spare.

In his interview with Tom Bradby on Sunday (8 January), the duke was asked about the previous claims that he and his wife, Meghan Markle, made during their interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

During the interview, the couple had said that unnamed members of the royal family had raised “concerns” over “how dark” their last Archie’s skin would be.

What did Prince Harry say about Kate? Here’s what you missed

In his new memoir Spare which launches tomorrow, the Duke of Sussex claims that William and Kate encouraged him to wear the Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party in 2005 and “both howled” at the idea.

He also writes that Meghan upset Kate by saying she must have “baby brain” in the run-up to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 2018 wedding, Kate demanded an apology and William pointed a finger at Meghan and called her “rude”.

The Duke of Sussex writes about the infamous fight between Meghan and Kate during a bridesmaids’ dress fitting for Princess Charlotte, claiming he found his wife “on the floor” in tears after the fallout.

Also in the book, the duke says that Kate reluctantly lent Meghan her lip gloss, was “taken aback” by the request to borrow it and “grimaced” when Meghan squeezed some on to her finger and applied it to her lips.

Princess of Wales celebrates her birthday on eve of PrinceHarry’s memoir

The Princess of Wales is celebrating her 41st birthday just one day before the Duke of Sussex’s controversial memoir hits shelves.

Kate, whose birthday is January 9, will likely mark the day in a private family way amid a period of fracture and turmoil for the royal family.

A flood of inflammatory claims have emerged from Harry’s tell-all autobiography Spare, which was leaked and also put on sale early in Spain ahead of its official release on Tuesday.

But it is not the first time Kate’s birthday has fallen in the shadow of bombshell revelations from the Sussex camp.

Harry and Meghan made the shock announcement that they would be stepping back as senior members of the royal family on January 8 2020.

Kate marked her 40 last year by releasing three striking images of her dancing in Alexander McQueen dresses taken by celebrated birthday fashion photographer Paolo Roversi.

</amp-img>
(PA)

This year, Kate’s birthday comes after intimate details about Harry’s life and family, including claims about his sister-in-law, have emerged from his new memoir.

Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have declined to comment but the book is being seen as damaging Harry’s fragile relationship with his brother – a future king – beyond repair.
