Netflix has officially pulled the plug on Inside Job<\/em>meaning that the popular adult animated series will not return for a second season on the platform after all.<\/p>\n

Following of murmurs Inside Job<\/em>‘s premature cancellation, series creator Shion Takeuchi confirmed the news in a statement posted to Twitter. “I’m sorry guys, it’s true,” Takeuchi wrote. “I’m heartbroken to confirm that Netflix has decided to cancel Season 2 of Inside Job<\/em>. Over the years, these characters have become real people to me, and I am devastated not to be able to watch them grow up. Reagan and Brett deserved to get their ending and finally find happiness. And I would have loved to be able to share what was in store with you all.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Takeuchi concluded, “To everyone who watched, thank you for coming along on the ride. Even though I’m sad, it helps to know that there’s people out there who cared just as much about these characters as me.”<\/p>\n

Inside Job Recently Premiered Season 1, Part 2<\/h2>\n
Inside Job<\/em> Season 1, Part 1 premiered on Netflix on Oct. 22, 2021, consisting of 10 episodes. The show returned for Season 1, Part 2 on Nov. 18, 2022. Part 2 added eight episodes, thus bringing Season 1’s grand total to 18. In June 2022, it was announced that in addition to the then-upcoming Part 2, Inside Job<\/em> had officially been renewed for a full-length second season. However, that decision now appears to have been reversed.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Inside Job<\/em> stars Lizzy Caplan and Clark Duke as the voices of Reagan Ridley and Brett Hand, respectively. The show’s official logline reads as follows: “For employees of the Deep State, conspiracies aren’t just theories — they’re fact. And keeping them secret is a full time job.” Inside Job <\/em>centers on socially-awkward scientist Reagan and the misadventures she gets up to with her dysfunctional co-workers at Cognito, a shadow government organization.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Inside Job’s Cancellation Has Been Confirmed<\/h2>\n
Per PopCulture.com, word of Inside Job <\/em>being canceled first surfaced in a pair of now-deleted tweets by Chase Mitchell, one of the show’s writers, on Saturday, Jan. 7. “I hate posts like this but our show got canceled on Friday,” Mitchell wrote. “I dunno if I was allowed to say this but honestly that streamer does not care about animation anymore so who gives a shit.” Inside Job<\/em> fans on social media seem to be similarly frustrated by this revelation.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
