Searchlight Pictures&#8217; Irish comedy \u201cThe Banshees of Inisherin\u201d leads the way with eight noms, followed closely by A24&#8217;s \u201cEverything Everywhere All at Once\u201d with six.  The battle in best picture (comedy or musical) will be one of the hottest of the night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tOn the drama side, it could be an easy checkbox selection for Universal Pictures&#8217; \u201cThe Fabelmans\u201d in best picture (drama), but Warner Bros&#8217; \u201cElvis\u201d and Paramount Pictures&#8217; \u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d are popular with many of the HFPA voters. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tOn the television side, the HFPA loves freshman shows and has rarely gone for the final \u201ccoronation\u201d narrative.  This is a place where HBO&#8217;s \u201cHouse of the Dragon\u201d or Apple&#8217;s \u201cSeverance\u201d can dominate the drama races, while in comedy, watch out for ABC&#8217;s \u201cAbbott Elementary\u201d or FX&#8217;s \u201cThe Bear\u201d to be the sleeper picks. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tread <em>Variety&#8217;s <\/em>breakdown of each movie and television category ahead of the Jan.  10 Golden Globe Awards.
