If you’re trying to keep a ranked list of the royals who are least happy with Prince Harry at any given moment, go ahead and move Kate Middleton up a few places. Actually, if the latest reports about her reaction to Harry’s memoir, spareare true, she might currently belong in the top spot.

Warning: Big 😬 energy ahead.

“Kate feels that Harry’s actions are atrocious,” a source told Us Weekly of Kate’s reaction to the explosive book—and specifically, it seems, to what he had to say about her personally in it. “She is appalled at him for dragging her name through the dirt and she is finding it hard to forgive.”

Last week, insiders who had already read the book (which we commoners will be able to read when it’s released *this week* on January 10) hinted that Kate, along with Harry’s long-estranged older brother, Prince William, were hit especially hard in the book.

“Generally, I think the book [will be] worse for them than the royal family is expecting,” one source explained to the Sunday Times. “Everything is laid bare. Charles comes out of it better than I had expected, but it’s tough on William, in particular, and even Kate [Middleton] gets a bit of a broadside. There are these minute details and a description of the fight between the brothers. I personally can’t see how Harry and William will be able to reconcile after this.”

FWIW, not everything Harry had to say about Kate in the memoir seems to be negative. In one excerpt quoted by Us Weeklyhe describes his and Kate’s shared sense of humor and how that made him happy to welcome her into the fam:

“I liked seeing Kate laugh. Better yet, I liked making her laugh. And I was quite good at it. My transparently silly side connected with her heavily disguised silly side. Whenever I worried that Kate was going to be the one to take Willy from me, I consoled myself with thoughts of all our future laughing fits together, and I told myself how great everything would be when I had a serious girlfriend who could laugh along with us.”
