The Arizona Cardinals plan to trade former All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins this offseason, sources tell Jordan Schultz, theScore’s NFL insider.<\/p>\n
Hopkins has two years and $34.36 million left on his contract but will likely seek a new deal, according to Schultz.<\/p>\n
Owner Michael Bidwill plans to express the idea of \u200b\u200bmoving Hopkins to general manager candidates, adds Schultz.<\/p>\n
Hopkins’ contract holds a no-trade clause, and he’d have to approve any deal.<\/p>\n
The 30-year-old is set to earn $19.45 million in base salary and carries a $30.75-million cap hit for the 2023 season, per Spotrac.<\/p>\n
The five-time Pro-Bowler missed the campaign’s first six games due to suspension. The Cardinals ruled him out of the regular season’s final two contests with a knee injury.<\/p>\n
The three-time All-Pro receiver has played in 19 of 34 games over the last two years. <\/p>\n
Hopkins has recorded 221 receptions, 2,696 yards, and 17 touchdowns over three seasons in Arizona.<\/p>\n
He led the Cardinals with 717 receiving yards this campaign while adding three scores in just nine games.<\/p>\n
The Houston Texans dealt Hopkins to Arizona in March 2020 after he established himself as one of the premier receivers over his first seven NFL seasons.<\/p>\n
