Google tells us that the backgrounds are videos, and moving independent of the 360-degree motion.  At launch, you can pick from an oasis (as seen below), sky city, or mountain temple, with more coming. <\/p>\n<p>Google Meet will roll out these 360-degree backgrounds in the \u201ccoming weeks\u201d on Android and iOS for both consumers and paid Workspace users.  It&#8217;s best used when you&#8217;re taking a meeting on the go.<\/p>\n<p>This will join the existing set of standard wallpapers, blur effects, video\/moving backgrounds, styles (B&#038;W, sepia, etc.), and face filters, as well as the ability to upload your own.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video controls=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/01\/google-meet-360-backgrounds-oasis.mp4\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Meanwhile, Google next week will start encouraging people to stop using the app named \u201cMeet (original)\u201d and upgrade to the Duo-derived \u201cMeet.\u201d  The former has a green logo, while the latter uses the four-colored icon.
