\n3 Days of competition<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\nThe Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) will return in 2023 in a duos format. The tournament’s first major event, FNCS Major 1, will replace the Elite Divisional Cups for a period of five weeks. Players who earn the Elite Division ranking in Chapter 4, Season 1 will be eligible to participate in FNCS Major 1.<\/p>\n
FNCS MAJOR 1<\/strong><\/p>\nThe FNCS Major 1 tournament will kick off on February 2, 2023, and will run for five weeks during Chapter 4 Season 1. To participate, players must first earn Elite Division in the season.<\/p>\n
Each week, scores will be accumulated across both Wednesday and Friday sessions of the FNCS Major 1 Weekly Competition. The top 50 duos from each region will qualify for that week’s FNCS Major 1 Weekly Finals.<\/p>\n
Throughout the tournament, every duo that competes will be awarded Series Points based on their performance and results from that week. At the end of the tournament, the top 40 duos with the highest cumulative points on the Series Leaderboard across the three weeks will advance to the FNCS Major 1 Grand Finals.<\/p>\n
FNCS MAJOR 1 SURGE WEEK<\/strong><\/p>\nDuos that place 41st through 90th on the Series Leaderboard after 3 weeks of FNCS Major 1 weekly competition will qualify for the FNCS Major 1 Surge Week. This is an additional opportunity for these teams to earn one of the final spots in the Grand Finals.<\/p>\n
During the Surge Week, these teams will compete in five matches, with the goal of earning a Victory Royale or scoring highly on the leaderboard. The five duos that earn a Victory Royale will immediately advance to the Grand Finals. Additionally, the next six to ten highest-scoring duos on the leaderboard, based on consistency, will also advance to the Grand Finals.<\/p>\n
FNCS MAJOR 1 GRAND FINALS<\/strong><\/p>\nThe FNCS Major 1 Grand Finals is scheduled to be held in March 2023, featuring opportunities for duos to advance to the Upper Bracket of the FNCS Global Championship 2023 in late 2023.<\/p>\n
The Grand Finals will consist of two days of competition, with six matches played each day for a total of twelve matches. The duos with the highest cumulative points on the FNCS Major 1 Grand Finals leaderboard will be awarded a share of the $2,000,000 prize pool. The best performing teams from each region will also advance to the FNCS Global Championship 2023. <\/p>\n
FNCS LAST CHANCE MAJOR<\/strong><\/p>\nAfter the completion of FNCS Major 1, 2 and 3, there will be one final opportunity for players to qualify for the FNCS Global Championship 2023 – the FNCS Last Chance Major. This tournament will take place on August 24th – 27th.<\/p>\n
During the FNCS Last Chance Major, the top 250 duos in Round 1 will move on to Round 2, where they will compete across two days, with six matches played each day, for a total of twelve matches. This event will be the final chance for players to secure a spot among the elite in the FNCS Global Championship 2023. Players are encourage to mark their calendars and prepare to compete.<\/p>\n
FORTNITE CHAMPION SERIES GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\nIn the fourth quarter of this year, the Fortnite Competitive team is planning to hold the FNCS Global Championship 2023 as an in-person LAN tournament in Copenhagen, Denmark. The tournament will feature 75 of the best duos from around the world competing for a share of the $4,000,000 prize pool. These duos will be competing in a new Upper and Lower bracket format. The In-person aspect of the event may be subject to change depending on the ongoing situation of the COVID-19 pandemics and the safety measure put in place by the host location.<\/p>\n
UPPER BRACKET<\/strong><\/p>\nDuring the FNCS Global Championship 2023, 50 of the competing duos will participate in the Upper Bracket. On Day 1, these teams will play in 5 matches. After the conclusion of these matches, the top 25 duos with the highest cumulative points on the leaderboard will advance to the Grand Finals on Day 3. On the other hand, the 25 duos with the lowest cumulative points on the leaderboard will be relegated to the Lower Bracket and will compete on Day 2.<\/p>\n
LOWER BRACKET<\/strong><\/p>\nOn Day 2 of the FNCS Global Championship 2023, 50 duos that have been relegated to the Lower Bracket will have one final opportunity to earn a spot in the Grand Finals. They will compete in 5 matches, and the highest-scoring 25 duos after these matches will advance to the Grand Finals on Day 3. This will be the final chance for these teams to secure a spot among the elite in the FNCS Global Championship 2023.<\/p>\n
GRAND FINALS<\/strong><\/p>\nOn the final day of the FNCS Global Championship 2023, the best duos from both the Upper and Lower Bracket will compete in the Grand Finals, playing a total of 6 matches. These matches will determine which duo will be crowned the 2023 Global Champions and will be awarded with a share of the $4,000,000 prize pool. The tournament grand final is expected to be the most competitive and exciting matches of the tournament, the best of the best will be fighting to be the champion of the tournament<\/p>\n <\/figure>\nQUALIFICATION SPOTS<\/strong><\/p>\nQualifying duos will be invited to the FNCS Global Championship 2023 based on past performances from each of the FNCS 2023 Majors.
