To simplify backups, Google Photos has updated two terms related to the process across the mobile and web apps as well as in support documentation. <\/p>\n

To start with, \u201cBackup & sync\u201d is now just called \u201cBackup.\u201d This is the main setting to \u201cenable or disable the automatic backup of your photos and videos to your Google account\u201d and the very first item in preferences. It’s interesting how \u201csync\u201d is considered a given with modern technology and cloud backups. <\/p>\n

In that same menu, \u201cUpload size\u201d has been renamed to \u201cBackup quality,\u201d with \u201cOriginal quality\u201d and \u201cStorage saver\u201d unchanged. <\/p>\n
