Georgia inside linebacker Trezmen Marshall was one of the Bulldogs’ veterans at the position this year who stepped up in spot duty throughout the fall. Marshall has been part of tremendous success in Athens, but now he’s looking to move on.

Marshall officially entered the transfer portal on Friday. The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Marshall just completed his junior season as a Bulldog and has up to two years of eligibility remaining.

Marshall played in 14 of Georgia’s 15 games this season. He recorded 19 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 pass break-up, 1 quarterback hurry and 1 interception. He had 4 tackles against Mississippi State and South Carolina, and he also had his first career pick against the Gamecocks.

Marshall came to Georgia as a four-star prospect in the 2019 class and worked diligently to find a way onto the field. He enrolled in January and wound up having surgery on the labrum in his right shoulder but still managed to play in all 14 games that fall, recording 5 tackles in the process.

Marshall had worked to get into the mix in 2020, but a torn labrum in Georgia’s season opener against Arkansas slowed him down considerably. He tried to play through the pain but wound up only appearing in two other games before having to have another shoulder surgery.

Marshall played well during Georgia’s fall camp in 2021 only for another ailment to derail his season. He played in four games for Georgia last fall before a knee injury ended his season; at the time, he had 7 tackles under his belt.

Marshall spoke in April about his journey back from injury.

“It was like four [surgeries] in all, but that’s football. I just had to get through that, go to rehab and get treatment, and I’d be OK,” Marshall said. “In my situation, it’s just all about being resilient. As long as you can just fight through everything — whatever you’re going through — and just make the best choice for your family and the best choice for you, whatever that is.”
