The Jeremy Renner-led \u201cMayor of Kingstown has returned for a second season from today and is addressing the fallout from last season’s prison riot in the finale.<\/p>\n
Of course the focus on the series launch has been more on the health of its star as Renner continues his recovery following a snow plow accident that put him in critical condition in hospital. The actor has sinec begun a long road to recovery from some serious injuries.<\/p>\n
Showrunner Hugh Dillon, who co-created the drama with Taylor Sheridan, recently discussed Renner’s injuries with Deadline and what will happen should a third season be picked up by the Paramount+ service.<\/p>\n
Talking about the accident, Dillon says he heard about Renner’s injuries from one of the other producers and then saw it on the news. He says:<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI just think the world of that guy and I’m happy he’s surrounded by his family. Anything we can do to help, we will. That’s the biggest thing. He’s like family.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Asked when a third season could theoretically begin production, Dillon says:<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI would think that we’d start in August, September, maybe pre-production in the summer\u201d and adds he and Sheridan have \u201cmultiple ideas for multiple seasons\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The second season of \u201cMayor of Kingstown\u201d will continue to release weekly on the platform through to March.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
