In their latest effort to replace the missing pieces from last year’s championship roster, the Golden State Warriors plan on signing forward JaMychal Green. Green, currently a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, is working on a contract buyout with the Thunder and intends to sign with the Warriors after clearing waivers, according to multiple<\/a> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Warriors can look to the Alabama product for veteran leadership in a frontcourt that lacks experienced big men. After Otto Porter Jr. and Nemanja Bjelica departed earlier this offseason, only Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman \u2014 who hasn’t played an NBA game in 15 months \u2014 return from last year’s group of low-post threats.<\/p>\n

Green will join the Warriors with eight years of experience under his belt, seven of which he has made it to the playoffs for. After going undrafted, Green had a short stint with the San Antonio Spurs before turning a pair of 10-day contracts with the Memphis Grizzlies into a multi-year deal in 2015. The 6-foot-8 forward was then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019 before signing a two-year deal with the Denver Nuggets the ensuing offseason. Green exercised his player option, the second year of his deal, in June 2022 until he was dealt to the Thunder a week later.<\/p>\n
