Rebecca Balding, best known for her roles on \u201cSoap\u201d and \u201cCharmed,\u201d has died. She was 73. <\/p>\n

Balding died Monday in Park City, Utah, following a battle with ovarian cancer, Balding’s husband James L. Conway confirmed to USA TODAY.<\/p>\n

Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Balding made her television debut in 1976, appearing on the action drama \u201cThe Bionic Woman.\u201d Two years later, she landed the role of Carol David in the dramedy series \u201cSoap,\u201d which also starred Katherine Helmond, Richard Mulligan and Emmy-winning actor Billy Crystal.<\/p>\n

Balding was also something of a scream queen pioneer, starring in the horror thrillers \u201cThe Silent Scream\u201d in 1979 and \u201cThe Boogens\u201d in 1981. It was on the set of \u201cThe Boogens\u201d that Balding would meet her future husband Conway, who directed the movie.<\/p>\n
