(The Warriors paid $170 million in luxury tax penalties last season. NBA teams can go over the salary cap to retain their own free agents but have to pay penalties on every dollar spent past certain thresholds; the tax made last year&#8217;s Warriors the most expensive team in NBA history.)<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- Missed: ad --><\/p>\n<p>    <!-- Missed: ad --><\/p>\n<aside class=\"article--content-inline\">\n<aside class=\"zone\"><!-- src\/business\/widgets\/hearst\/collection\/widget.tpl --><\/p>\n<p>    <!-- e src\/business\/widgets\/hearst\/collection\/widget.tpl --><\/aside>\n<\/aside>\n<p>&#8220;I think it&#8217;s a very unfair system because our team is built,\u201d Lacob said on Iguodala&#8217;s podcast. \u201cTop eight players are drafted by this team. We have guys that were undrafted and we found and developed them in Santa Cruz.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- Missed: ad --><\/p>\n<p>The NBA has a policy against &#8220;unauthorized communications regarding collective bargaining,&#8221; according to ESPN.  The tax system is part of a collective bargaining agreement between the owners and the players&#8217; union.
