In LeBron James’ backyard, Steph Curry used his monologue as ESPYs host to take a few shots at the erstwhile King. “I’m the second NBA player to host this award show,” Curry said. “LeBron James, he hosted this award show back in 2007, after losing in the NBA Finals. So yes, you guessed it, this feels better.”

That wasn’t the only joke the Golden State Warriors superstar had for LeBron. “It’s just inspiring to see that strategy of buying old superstars pay off for a local team around here,” referring to the Rams’ Super Bowl title and the Lakers’ disastrous team-building strategy. He then found 56-year-old Dikembe Mutumbo in the audience and asked if he was interested in joining the Lakers on a 10-day contract.

“After celebrating three kids’ birthdays in two weeks, I finally understand why Tom Brady keeps coming back to work. Relaxation sometimes is exhausting. Speaking of Tom Brady, he’s the only guy I know who would rather get hit by Aaron Donald than hang out with a supermodel.”
