It&#8217;s a whole new team that really had nothing to do with the first movies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Allen, 69, added that when he heard they were making a live-action movie about Buzz Lightyear, he thought it was a movie with &#8220;real humans, not an animated thing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s really no <em>Toy Story<\/em> Buzz without Wood,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;I&#8217;m not sure what the idea\u2014I&#8217;m a plot guy.  It would seem to be a big adventure story, and as I see, it&#8217;s not a big adventure story.  It&#8217;s a wonderful story, it just doesn&#8217;t seem to have any connection to the toy.  It has no relationship to Buzz.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>15 Surprising Things You Never Knew About the <em>Toy Story<\/em> franchise<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>lightyear<\/em> hit theaters on June 17 and serves as a prequel to the 1995 movie <em>Toy Story<\/em>which was starred <strong>Tom Hanks<\/strong> as Woody and Allen as Buzz Lightyear.  Allen went on to voice the space ranger for four movies in the franchise, however, <strong>Chris Evans<\/strong> was chosen to play Buzz in <em>lightyear<\/em>\u2014a move that was surprising for a lot of people, including <strong>Patricia Heaton<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>three days before <em>lightyear<\/em> was slated to be released, the <em>Everybody Loves Raymond<\/em> actress slammed Disney and Pixar for not casting Allen as Buzz.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"caas-figure\">\n<div style=\"\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"caas-img-container caas-img-loader noheight\"><noscript><img alt=\"Tim Allen\" src=\"https:\/\/s.yimg.com\/ny\/api\/res\/1.2\/6Qe3jLeOZ4LaSaijx_DLfQ--\/YXBwaWQ9aGlnaGxhbmRlcjt3PTk2MA--\/https:\/\/s.yimg.com\/uu\/api\/res\/1.2\/WZtw8HBgunWZRzpHsrfn7Q--~B\/aD0wO3c9MDthcHBpZD15dGFjaHlvbg--\/https:\/\/media.zenfs.com\/en\/e__181\/f70b276753ad3b7cb37b5cc33a01a6a3\" class=\"caas-img\"\/><\/noscript><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><figcaption class=\"caption-collapse\">Larry Marano\/Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;Saw the trailer for Buzz Lightyear and all I can say is Disney\/Pixar made a HUGE mistake in not casting my pal @ofctimallen Tim Allen in the role that he originated, the role that he owns,&#8221; she tweeted June 14. &#8220;Tim IS Buzz!
