When asked about newer generations of the show, he revealed that he believes no new shows in the franchise can rival his own.  &#8220;I got to know [creator] Gene Roddenberry in three years fairly well,\u201d Shatner said.  \u201cHe&#8217;d be turning in his grave at some of this stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shatner also spoke on Star Wars, though he&#8217;s apparently not a fan of the franchise.  &#8220;Fuck Star Wars\u2026. But not Mark Hamill,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>His trip into space last year, which he took very seriously, also became a frequent topic of discussion during the panel.  &#8220;I went, and I vowed that every moment that I spent in space, would not be playing around in weightlessness, but looking out the window and trying to get an impression.&#8221;<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"object-feedback\"\/><output class=\"widget-container\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-862123036 slideshow-preview\">\n<p>What the Casts of Star Trek Are Binging<\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-862123036 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-862123036 hero-image\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-3600606818 aspect-ratio-container aspect-ratio-16-9\">\n<div class=\"jsx-3600606818 aspect-ratio-child\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/output><\/p>\n<p>SDCC just kicked off yesterday, and it&#8217;s already been filled with announcements including a first look at Dungeons &#038; Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and an end to DC&#8217;s Snyderverse movies.
