Another week, another price drops, but only for some models.

Retailer are clearly getting rid of the high-end GeForce RTX 30 models. This is sadly not the case with mid-range and entry-level SKUs. NVIDIA was expected to announce price cuts for the RTX 30 series in mid-July, but unfortunately that did not happen either, at least not officially. Instead, we had ‘unofficial’ price cuts by retailers and board partners (such as EVGA) who were selling cards exactly at the rumored discounted prices.

Fast forward 10 days, and we now have even lower prices. For instance, the RTX 3090 Ti, which had already dropped from 2000 USD to 1500 USD, is now sold at 1450 USD, so another 50 USD in just 10 days. This is based on the lowest pricing from Newegg (new items only).

The same price cut applies to RTX 3090, which is now available at 1250 USD. More importantly, there is an even bigger discount for RTX 3080 Ti Ventus from MSI. With mail-in-rebate the card can be purchases for 900 USDthat’s 200 USD cheaper in just 10 days.

Of course, that’s a local discount for one store only, yet it shows a clear trend that should eventually be seen at other companies. After looking at MSRPs, mid-July price discounts mentioned by Benchlife and Newegg’s current pricing, we can immediately see that only high-end models are getting considerable discounts very quickly, but mid-range and low-end SKUs are still over MSRP.

Just a few months ago, no one would think that the RTX 3090 would sell for that low. But just this week alone RTX 3090 dropped to 999 USD at one retailer and this offer was available for at least two days.

As we get closer to September/October, many such offers will pop up at different retailers, especially for the high-end series which are being replaced first. NVIDIA’s plans list RTX 4090 as the first next-gen model to launch, so naturally there will be pressure on selling as many RTX3090Ti/3090 cards as possible first.

Source: Newegg

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 high-end GPUs get further discounts, mid-range models not so much Another week, another price drops, but only for some models.
