Tiger Woods had a slow start in the final round of the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, but he finished with a flourish. Woods was four-over par through his first seven holes, but he rallied to shoot a one-under 70 and finish the tournament in a tie for 15th.<\/p>\n
Woods had a solid start to the day, making birdies on the first and fourth holes, but then he hit a rough patch. He bogeyed the fifth, sixth, eighth, and ninth holes to fall back to two-over par. He then birdied the 10th and 12th holes, but bogeyed the 13th and 14th.<\/p>\n
On the par-five 17th hole, Woods hit his second shot to within 10 feet of the hole and then made the birdie putt to get back to one-over par. On the 18th hole, Woods hit a beautiful approach shot to within five feet of the hole and then sank the birdie putt to finish the tournament with a flourish.<\/p>\n
Woods was pleased with his performance, saying, \u201cI was really pleased with the way I finished. I was four-over through seven, and to get it back to one-over was a really good finish.\u201d<\/p>\n
The performance was a reminder of Woods’ ability to rally from a slow start, something he has done throughout his career. He has won 14 major championships, and many of those victories have come after he has started off slowly.<\/p>\n
At the end of the day, Woods was pleased with his performance and the way he finished.
