The University of Kentucky Wildcats scored a 66-54 win over the 10th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday night in Lexington, Kentucky. The Wildcats used a strong defensive effort to limit the Volunteers to just 24.1% shooting from the field, while also forcing 14 turnovers. Kentucky also outrebounded Tennessee 42-34, and held a 16-8 advantage in second-chance points.<\/p>\n
The Wildcats were led by freshman guard Brandon Boston Jr., who scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting. He also added five rebounds and two assists. Senior forward Olivier Sarr had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman guard Devin Askew added 11 points, four assists, and three steals.<\/p>\n
The Volunteers were led by senior guard Santiago Vescovi, who scored a team-high 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting. He also added four rebounds and two assists. Freshman forward Keon Johnson added 10 points and seven rebounds, while freshman forward Jaden Springer chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.<\/p>\n
