New York Knicks star Julius Randle had a disappointing showing in the 2021 NBA Three-Point Contest, as he was eliminated in the first round of the competition.

Randle entered the contest as one of the favorites, as he was coming off a season in which he set a career-high in three-pointers made, shooting a career-best 37.6 percent from beyond the arc. Randle was also the first Knicks player to compete in the Three-Point Contest since J.R. Smith in 2013.

Unfortunately, Randle failed to live up to the hype, as he finished with a score of 17 points in the first round, which was seven points behind the eventual winner, Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley. Randle’s performance was especially surprising, as he had been shooting the ball extremely well from deep during the regular season.

Despite the disappointing performance, Randle should take solace in the fact that he was able to compete in the Three-Point Contest. It was a great accomplishment for him to be able to represent the Knicks in the competition, and it should serve as motivation for him to continue to work hard and improve his shooting.

Randle will now turn his focus back to the regular season, as the Knicks are currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. With the playoffs just around the corner, Randle will look to lead the Knicks to a deep postseason run.
