The release is timed for Disney + Day, a lead-in to the D23 Expo in Anaheim CA.  The streamer also released the first footage in a teaser trailer below, along with key art.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"c-figure c-figure--embedded alignleft\" style=\"width: 257px;\">\n<p>\t<noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-1235035769\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Pinocchio-key-art.jpg?resize=257%2C347&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"257\" height=\"347\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Zemeckis directs the live action retelling of the beloved tale of a wooden puppet who embarks on a thrilling adventure to become a real boy.  Hanks stars as Geppetto, the wood carver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his own son di lui.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Jiminy Cricket, who serves as Pinocchio&#8217;s guide as well as his \u201cconscience\u201d of him;  Academy Award\u00ae nominee Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy;  Keegan-Michael Key is \u201cHonest\u201d John;  Academy Award\u00ae nominee Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull, a new character, and Luke Evans is The Coachman.  Also in the cast are Kyanne Lamaya as Fabiana (and her marionette di lei Sabina), Giuseppe Battiston as Se\u00f1or Stromboli and Lewin Lloyd as Lampwick.<\/p>\n<p>Zemeckis penned the script for his adaptation with Chris Weitz, with the pair producing alongside Derek Hogue, Andrew Miano.  Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz.
