That surpassed the second season of &#8220;Bridgerton,&#8221; which brought in 193 million hours viewed in March.<\/p>\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph\" data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_538563CB-9D7E-54BA-3716-1B6A6ADF989F\"><span>Netflix<\/span> <span>(<span class=\"inlink_chart\">NFLX<\/span>)<\/span> added that the debut was the first season to reach No. 1 in 83 countries, setting another record.  &#8220;Stranger Things 4&#8221; also reached the top 10 in all 93 countries that the company tracks.<\/div>\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph\" data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_FFDA85B0-0D12-9E23-3A54-1B6F62D7B1EF\">This is welcome news for Netflix, which is having a terrible year.  The company reported in April that it lost subscribers for the first time in more than a decade.  The news shocked Wall Street and sent shares plummeting.  It also caused investors to doubt the future of Netflix as well as the entire streaming marketplace.<\/div>\n<div class=\"zn-body__read-all\">\n<div class=\"el__embedded el__embedded--standard\">\n<div class=\"el__storyelement--standard el__article--embed\">\n<div class=\"el__article--teaseimage\"><noscript><img alt=\"Netflix's world has been turned upside down as stock plunges 35%\" class=\"media__image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.cnn.com\/cnnnext\/dam\/assets\/220412110237-stranger-things-4-trailer-large-169.jpg?ssl=1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/noscript><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The &#8220;Stranger Things&#8221; series, which follows a group of kids and adults that battle the forces of a parallel universe, is by far Netflix&#8217;s biggest franchise.  Fans have been clamoring for more after the show has been away for roughly three years.<\/p>\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph\" data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_4911F205-16F4-28EF-FB27-1B6A2E570D51\">Netflix announced in February that the current season of the series will debut in two parts this summer.  The first part premiered on May 27 and the second hits July 1. The company also said that the show will conclude with season 5.<\/div>\n<p>Since its come out of nowhere debut in 2016, &#8220;Stranger Things&#8221; has helped carry Netflix to where it is today.
