Donald hinted that if he and Los Angeles can&#8217;t agree on a deal, he&#8217;s willing to retire. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m happy, I&#8217;m fine, I don&#8217;t need to play.  The thing is, I don&#8217;t need to play football to be fine, \u201dDonald said.  \u201cI was blessed to play this game, to make the money I made, the accomplishments I made in eight years\u2026 I&#8217;m complete.  If I could win another one, that&#8217;s great but if not, I&#8217;m at peace. &#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Donald still has three more years on the six-year, $ 135 million deal he signed in 2018, but has since outperformed what he&#8217;s earning.  Donald is widely considered to be one of the best players in the NFL and he&#8217;s coming off of his first Super Bowl win and another All-Pro season. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-b not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\"\/>\n<p>After an interview ahead of Super Bowl LVI, Rodney Harrison reported that Donald, 31, told him he was seriously considering retirement after the big game.  Donald later shared that he thought that was a private conversation and he wound up committing to return for Los Angeles.  During his appearance of him on <em>I AM ATHLETE<\/em>he added that he&#8217;s always said he would retire after eight seasons in the NFL.<\/p>\n<section class=\"m-in-content-recommendation m-detail--in-content-recommendation m-detail--body-reset mm-component-stack--is-body-item\" style=\"--title_size_a_font_size:16;--title_size_b_font_size:16;--title_size_c_font_size:16;\">\n<p><span>Scroll to Continue<\/span><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<p>Donald stated several times the NFL is a \u201cbusiness\u201d and that money wasn&#8217;t the only reason why he plays.  But it still appears that he still wants a different deal if he were to continue to play.  Donald was on the cover of <em>Sports Illustrated<\/em> in March, when he spoke to Greg Bishop about life as a Super Bowl champion and the thought process behind possibly walking away. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-c\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-b not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-1\"\/>\n<p>\u201cIt ain&#8217;t about the money, it&#8217;s a business at the end of the day,\u201d Donald said.  &#8220;For me, it&#8217;s about winning.  I don&#8217;t want to play football if I can&#8217;t win anyways.  It&#8217;s still a business, we gotta handle the business side of things.  If that wasn&#8217;t to get handled, it is what it is type of situation.
