The Ohio State Buckeyes were looking to make a statement against the Purdue Boilermakers in their Big Ten matchup on Saturday, but unfortunately, they were unable to do so, falling 82-55. Ohio State got off to a slow start, as Purdue jumped out to an early 10-2 lead. The Boilermakers would never look back, as they led by as many as 30 points in the second half. Ohio State was unable to put together any sort of sustained run, and Purdue was able to cruise to the victory.<\/p>\n
Ohio State was led by senior guard CJ Jackson, who scored a team-high 16 points. Jackson was the only Buckeye to reach double figures, as the rest of the team combined for just 39 points. The Buckeyes also struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 4-of-20 from three-point range. Purdue, on the other hand, shot 11-of-25 from deep and had four players score in double figures.<\/p>\n
The loss was a big disappointment for Ohio State, as they were hoping to make a statement against a ranked opponent.
