When the New York Mets acquired Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso in the offseason, it was clear that they had two of the most dynamic players in the game. But what wasn’t as clear was how they would fare against one of the most dominant pitchers in Japan, Kodai Senga.<\/p>\n
After facing Senga for the first time, both Alonso and Lindor had glowing reviews of the right-hander. Alonso, who faced Senga in the first inning of the game, was impressed with the pitcher’s ability to mix up his pitches and keep hitters off balance.<\/p>\n
“He’s got a really good fastball,” Alonso said. “He’s got a good slider, a good curveball and a good changeup. He’s got a lot of weapons. He’s got a lot of deception. He’s got a lot of movement.”<\/p>\n
Lindor, who faced Senga in the fourth inning, was equally impressed with the pitcher’s abilities.<\/p>\n
“He’s got a great fastball,” Lindor said. “He’s got a good changeup and a good slider. He’s got a lot of movement and he’s got a lot of deception. He’s got a lot of different pitches that he can throw and he’s got a lot of control.”<\/p>\n
Both Alonso and Lindor were complimentary of Senga’s ability to mix up his pitches and keep hitters off balance. They both noted that he was able to locate his pitches well and had good command of the strike zone.<\/p>\n
“He’s got great control,” Alonso said. “He’s got a lot of movement and he’s got a lot of deception. He’s able to locate his pitches really well and he’s got a lot of command of the strike zone.”<\/p>\n
Lindor echoed Alonso’s sentiment, noting that Senga was able to keep hitters guessing.<\/p>\n

It’s clear that both Alonso and Lindor were impressed with Senga’s performance in their first meeting.
