By now, you may have noticed that those in Destin for the SEC spring meetings have stayed clear of commenting on the Nick Saban-Jimbo Fisher saga.

Even Fisher said Wednesday he is moving on.

Paul Finebaum asked LSU athletic director Scott Woodward about the back and forth between the Alabama coach and Texas A&M coach.

“I’m not going to get in between two hillbillies fightin ‘from West Virginia. That’s a no-win situation, ”Woodward said when he made an appearance on“ The Paul Finebaum Show ”on Wednesday.

Woodward certainly knows both coaches. Woodward’s time at LSU overlapped Saban’s from 2000 to 2004, which was also the same time Fisher worked under Saban in Baton Rouge. Woodward, who did a stint as the Aggies athletic director, hired Fisher in 2017.

Last month, the two head coaches set off fireworks. Fisher called Saban a “narcissist.” Those remarks were made after the Alabama coach accused the Aggies – and Jackson State’s Deion Sanders – of paying for players.

Saban has apologized, and SEC commissioner Greg Sankey followed with a public reprimand for both.

Sankey’s comments, however, on NIL deals may have shed some light on where he stands in the feud.
