Big chunks of ESPN’s coverage team are out for at least Game 1 of the NBA Finals, which start Thursday evening in San Francisco. <\/p>\n
Analyst Jeff Van Gundy, who called Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals while clearly not<\/a> sounding like himself<\/a>, has COVID and is out for Thursday night’s Warriors-Celtics matchup. An ESPN spokesperson said that Van Gundy hopes to return for Game 2, which is Sunday night.<\/p>\n The news that Van Gundy and Adrian Wojnarowski are out with COVID was first reported by the New York Post. ESPN confirmed to SFGATE that the Post report was accurate.<\/p>\n
