{"id":35529,"date":"2022-06-03T20:50:15","date_gmt":"2022-06-03T20:50:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/lots-of-luck-on-his-trip-to-the-moon\/"},"modified":"2022-06-03T20:50:15","modified_gmt":"2022-06-03T20:50:15","slug":"lots-of-luck-on-his-trip-to-the-moon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/lots-of-luck-on-his-trip-to-the-moon\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Lots of luck on his trip to the Moon&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>President Joe Biden took a dismissive jab at Elon Musk over reports that the mogul has a \u201csuper bad feeling\u201d about the American economy. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLots of luck on his trip to the moon,\u201d a sarcastic Biden said at a press conference Friday when asked about Musk&#8217;s reported views. <\/p>\n<p>The president&#8217;s comments came hours after Reuters reported that Musk told executives at Tesla that he wants to ax 10% of the automaker&#8217;s 100,000-person workforce due to his gloomy view on the future of the economy. <\/p>\n<p>When asked about Musk&#8217;s dour outlook &#8211; as well as similar pessimism from JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon &#8211; Biden struck a more optimistic tone and touted recent investments from other automakers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile Elon Musk is talking about that, Ford is increasing their investment overwhelmingly,\u201d Biden said, referencing Ford&#8217;s announcement on Thursday that it plans to add 6,200 factory jobs in Michigan, Missouri and Ohio.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption>&#8220;Thanks Mr President!&#8221;  Elon Musk responded. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Biden also touted new manufacturing investments from Chrysler parent Stellantis and computer chipmaker Intel before taking the lunar-themed jab at Musk.<\/p>\n<p>In response to a clip of Biden&#8217;s comments on Twitter, Musk wrote, &#8220;Thanks Mr President!&#8221;  and included a link to a 2021 NASA press release about the space agency selecting SpaceX to work on a future lunar mission. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p>Musk has been an outspoken critic of Biden in the past, claiming that Biden favors automakers like Ford and General Motors because he is \u201ccaptured by the unions\u201d that represent workers in their factories.<\/p>\n<p>He has also criticized the president for \u201cnot getting much done\u201d and even compared him to \u201cAnchorman\u201d character Ron Burgundy due to his use of teleprompters. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>    .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joe Biden took a dismissive jab at Elon Musk over reports that the mogul has a \u201csuper bad feeling\u201d about the American economy. \u201cLots of luck on his trip to the moon,\u201d a sarcastic Biden said at a press conference Friday when asked about Musk&#8217;s reported views.
