The journey back to the desert planet of Arrakis may take longer than expected.<\/p>\n

\u201cDune: Part Two,\u201d the second chapter in the Warner Bros. and Legendary sci-fi epic, has been postponed and will now open in theaters on Nov. 17, 2023, instead of Oct. 20, 2023.<\/p>\n

On its new release date, the \u201cDune\u201d sequel is scheduled to open in theaters alongside Lionsgate’s \u201cHunger Games\u201d prequel, \u201cThe Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,\u201d and Universal’s \u201cTrolls 3.\u201d<\/p>\n

Warner Bros. and Legendary, co-producers on \u201cDune\u201d and other blockbuster franchises, also announced that an untitled \u201cGodzilla vs. Kong\u201d movie will be released on March 15, 2024.<\/p>\n

Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem are returning for \u201cDune: Part Two,\u201d with Florence Pugh, Austin Butler and Christopher Walken set to join the cast. Director Denis Villeneuve is expected to start filming the \u201cDune\u201d sequel, which follows the second half of Frank Herbert’s seminal novel, later this year.<\/p>\n

The first \u201cDune\u201d generated $400 million worldwide, one of the few successes of Warner Bros.’ experimental hybrid release strategy in which its 2021 slate dropped simultaneously on HBO Max. A critical triumph in addition to its commercial glory, \u201cDune\u201d was nominated for 10 Oscars and won for sound, visual effects and four others.<\/p>\n

\u201cGodzilla vs. Kong\u201d filmmaker Adam Wingard is back to direct the next monster mash-up between Godzilla and King Kong after steering the latest other-worldly blockbuster to COVID-era glory. While debuting day-and-date on HBO Max, his film \u201cGodzilla vs Kong\u201d collected $474 million at the global box office at a time when many movie theaters were still shuttered due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

There are no details available for Godzilla and King Kong’s upcoming brouhaha. It will mark the fifth installment in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s monster universe following 2014’s \u201cGodzilla,\u201d 2017’s \u201cKong: Skull Island,\u201d 2019’s \u201cGodzilla: King of the Monsters\u201d and 2021’s \u201cGodzilla vs. Kong.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
