is the favorite song of Sadie Sink&#8217;s character Max, who listens to it frequently as she tries to process her feelings of grief and guilt over her brother Billy&#8217;s death.  The song comes fully to the forefront in the season&#8217;s fourth episode, &#8220;Dear Billy,&#8221; in which it serves as both a major plot point related to<!-- -->as well as the soundtrack for,<!-- --> a deadly escape sequence centered on Max and the season&#8217;s villain, Vecna<!-- -->.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">Correspondingly, the song has blown up on the streaming charts over Memorial Day weekend, jumping from a couple of hundred plays last week,<!-- --> to 12,000 on Sunday, and 34,000 on Wednesday.  The raise occurred across all the major streamers, and is likely to propel Bush \u2014 always a bigger name in the UK than the US \u2014 to her highest position di lei ever on the Stateside <!-- -->Billboard Hot 100 (eclipsing \u201cRunning Up That Hill\u201d &#8216;s previous N<!-- -->or.  30<!-- --> position from 1985).<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\"><span><em>Variety <\/em>also has an interview with the show&#8217;s music supervisor<\/span>, revealing how the show landed Bush&#8217;s support, given that she&#8217;s usually pretty picky about song licensing.
