If you&#8217;re wondering what to watch this weekend, maybe your first option can be Hulu&#8217;s <em>Fire Island<\/em>the movie about people renting a vacation house together, to get you inspired to make some summer plans of your own.<\/p>\n<p>The film, written by and starring Joel Kim Booster, co-stars Bowen Yang, and together the two play Noah and Howie, two best friends sharing a house in the traditionally gay vacation enclave in the Pines of Fire Island.  Whether you use Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or all of the above, there are plenty more high-quality movies and shows hitting your favorite streaming platforms for you to check out.  Whether you want a new movie, or new seasons of your favorite shows, let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.<\/p>\n<h2>New Movies and Shows to Stream This Weekend: <em>Fire Island, Floor Is Lava <\/em>(Season 2), and <em>The Boys<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>As we mentioned, <em>Fire Island<\/em>, the film about two besties (and the rest of their friend circle) taking a summer vacation together comes out on Friday.  The film has evolved a bit since it was first announced in the trades two years ago as a Quibi TV show.  (RIP Quibi!) So it&#8217;s nice to see it finally see the light of day.  If you want comfort in the form of two favorite shows that are returning for all-new seasons, you&#8217;re in luck.  Netflix&#8217;s bubbling hot <em>Floor Is Lava<\/em> returns in all it&#8217;s punny glory for a second season, and Amazon Prime Video&#8217;s superheroes-with-a-twist series <em>The Boys<\/em> is also back for its third season this week. Joel Kim Booster, who has written for shows like <em>Big Mouth<\/em> and <em>The Other Two<\/em>and who has appeared in <em>Shrill<\/em> and <em>Sunnyside<\/em>wrote the script for the film, which is loosely based on Jane Austen&#8217;s <em>Pride and Prejudice<\/em>and features a great supporting cast of comedy actors including Margaret Cho, Conrad Ricamora, and Matt Rogers.<\/p>\n<p>Stream <i>Fire Island<\/i> on Hulu<\/p>\n<h3>New on Netflix June 3: <em>Floor Is Lava<\/em>Season 2<\/h3>\n<p><em>Floor Is Lava<\/em> is exactly what it sounds like, a riff on the game where kids jump all over their furniture, toys, or playground equipment pretending that they&#8217;ll get burned by \u201chot lava\u201d if they touch the ground.  Only in this version, these obstacle courses are brimming with bubbling goo that contestants, in teams of three, have to avoid, lest they lose their shot at the prize at the end of the episode.  Season two promises higher stakes, and a volcano that&#8217;s sure to lead to some explosive moments on the new season.<\/p>\n<p>Stream <i>Floor Is Lava<\/i> on Netflix<\/p>\n<h3>New on Amazon Prime Video June 3: <em>The Boys<\/em>Season 3<\/h3>\n<p><em>The Boys<\/em>, on Amazon Prime Video, the series about a group of young vigilantes fighting against a group of power-abusing superheroes was, is heading into its third season with a whole bunch of new faces.  While plenty of your favorite characters, including Karl Urban as Billy Butcher and Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, will be returning, new faces, like Jensen Ackles, who will play the Captain America-like Soldier Boy, and Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess.  Tune in Friday when Amazon Prime Video drops the first two episodes of <em>The Boys<\/em> on the platform.
