Ryan Fitzpatrick played with nine different NFL franchises in his career in the league, but his favorite stop was always with the Buffalo Bills.

Back when the recently retired QB was starting for the Miami Dolphins, Fitzpatrick admitted that Buffalo was his favorite NFL city.

“I’m gonna get in trouble if I answer that one,” Fitzpatrick told Adam Schefter back in 2020. “My favorite NFL city is Buffalo.”

When asked why, Fitzpatrick’s answer was simple.

“Because it’s Buffalo,” said Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick proved he was not lying about Buffalo being his favorite NFL city when he attended the team’s Wild Card Weekend matchup against the New England Patriots last season.

At the time, Fitzpatrick was still an active NFL quarterback under contract with the Washington Commanders. Being on another team did not stop Fitzpatrick from going shirtless in the freezing cold weather with his sons di lui as Buffalo steamrolled the Patriots 47-17.

Fitzpatrick called it a career just days ago. Considering that Buffalo was his favorite city di lui and that he is beloved by the Bills Mafia, some fans wondered if the quarterback would sign a one-day deal to retire with the Bills.

We now know the answer to that question thanks to Rich “Bull” Gaenzler. Gaenzler recently had Fitzpatrick on his Bull in the Basement podcast and asked the quarterback if he would sign a one-day deal with Buffalo.

“I don’t know how any of that works,” Fitzpatrick told Gaenzler with a smile. “So, I haven’t talked to anyone about it.”

Perhaps the Bills will reach out to Fitzpatrick so that the Bills Mafia member can say he retired with his favorite city.

In addition to asking Fitzpatrick about retiring as a member of the Bills, Gaenzler discussed Fitzpatrick going shirtless at the Bills’ playoff game, golfing with some of his former teammates and how Fred Jackson helped him break his retirement.
