Twitter user @ Sam19Lou gushed of the scene, “OMG, amazing photos capturing a family having fun. No pomp and pageantry which I also love but just a normal day baking in the kitchen with your kids. “

Another Twitter spectator with the handle @vitaminsea affectionately observed, “When the Queen told us to have a good time and make some great memories, William and Catherine nailed it with their beautiful family.”

The activity kicked off the family’s final morning of the four-day festivities taking place around the Platinum Jubilee, which is being held in honor of the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

The Queen, 96, is now the single longest-serving monarch in Great Britain’s history, having been coronated at age 21 on June 2, 1953. During Sunday’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant she appeared via hologram form.
