It took Jordan Beck and Tennessee baseball until the ninth inning to sink Georgia Tech and win the Knoxville Regional on Sunday.<\/p>\n

But when Beck’s line drive sailed over the head of Georgia Tech center fielder Colin Hall, bringing in the tying run and helping to spark a ninth-inning rally at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, Beck held up his middle finger on his right hand as he rounded first base for a double. <\/p>\n

He wasn’t just saying the Vols are ranked No. 1. <\/p>\n

Beck’s one-fingered salute was the crescendo on top-ranked Tennessee’s 9-6 victory that clinched the Vols’ second straight super regional berth. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was super excited,” Beck said of the hit. “I had a little bit of a blackout moment. I was just happy I hit a flush barrel. I didn’t know if it was getting over the guy’s head or not. “<\/p>\n
