The original writer of a magazine article that inspired the 1986 film \u201cTop Gun\u201d has sued Paramount Pictures, saying the studio willfully ignored a copyright claim he filed in 2018 – before making the high-flying sequel starring Tom Cruise.<\/p>\n
Ehud Yonay wrote an article titled \u201cTop Guns\u201d for the relatively unknown California Magazine in 1983, only to see it made into a blockbuster film three years later. He was rightfully credited as the \u201cstory-by\u201d author at the time, and still is.<\/p>\n
Also Read:<\/strong> According to his lawsuit, filed Monday in US District Court for central California, Yonay rightfully filed to re-claim his copyright in 2018, a statutory termination he was entitled to after enough time had passed.
