the 31st NBA team,\u201d he recently said on ESPN.  &#8220;Everybody in the league knows they do a terrific job &#8211; head coach Steve Kerr and his staff di lui does an amazing job of making adjustments at halftime.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"flex-video widescreen\"><iframe data-src=\"https:\/\/deadspin.com\/embed\/inset\/iframe?id=youtube-video-IM7RArTU16A&amp;start=0\" data-chomp-id=\"IM7RArTU16A\" data-recommend-id=\"youtube:\/\/IM7RArTU16A\" id=\"youtube-IM7RArTU16A\" data-recommended=\"false\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" class=\"core-inset lazyload\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"webkitAllowFullScreen\" mozallowfullscreen=\"mozallowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><span data-chomp-id=\"IM7RArTU16A\" data-recommend-id=\"youtube:\/\/IM7RArTU16A\" id=\"youtube-IM7RArTU16A\" data-recommended=\"false\" class=\"js_recommend\"\/><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">What Rose said about <!-- -->Kerr and the Warriors staff is correct.  However, how he feels about the Warriors&#8217; performance in the third quarter isn&#8217;t necessarily true.  Feelings aren&#8217;t facts, and the facts prove that just because the Warriors feel like the best team in the league during those 12 minutes after halftime, it doesn&#8217;t mean they are &#8211; especially in this series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">In Game 2, Steph Curry scored 14 of his game-high 29 points in the third.  &#8220; Steph was breathtaking in that quarter, &#8221; <span>Kerr said after the game<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">Golden State outscored Boston 35-14 during that period and scored 11 points off of the Celtics&#8217; five turnovers.  According to the <span>Associated Press<\/span>, that 21-point advantage \u201cwas the 91st different quarter in the playoffs where one team had a double-digit margin over the other.  That&#8217;s the most in a single playoff year ever, topping the 90 such quarters in the 2017 playoffs. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">The Warriors have built their dynasty on being good after halftime, but that doesn&#8217;t mean that they&#8217;re the best in this series.  According to the numbers, Golden State has played 18 games this postseason, and of them, they&#8217;ve won the third quarter 10 times.  But, of the 10 times they&#8217;ve won the third quarter, they&#8217;ve only gone on to win that same game only seven times.  The math says that if the Warriors win the third quarter this postseason it gives them a 38.8-percent chance of winning the game. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">But, as good as those numbers are, Boston&#8217;s are slightly better. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">The Celtics have played in 20 games this postseason, and of them, they&#8217;ve also won the third quarter 10 times.  Of the 10 times they won the third, they&#8217;ve gone on to win that same game eight times.  Meaning that if the Celtics win the third quarter, they have a 40-percent chance of winning the game, which is higher than the Warriors. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">But, here&#8217;s the kicker.
