{"id":40133,"date":"2022-06-07T07:18:08","date_gmt":"2022-06-07T07:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/springsteen-surprises-nj-stadium-crowd-jams-with-coldplay\/"},"modified":"2022-06-07T07:18:08","modified_gmt":"2022-06-07T07:18:08","slug":"springsteen-surprises-nj-stadium-crowd-jams-with-coldplay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/springsteen-surprises-nj-stadium-crowd-jams-with-coldplay\/","title":{"rendered":"Springsteen surprises NJ stadium crowd, jams with Coldplay"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"I2HJK4MGM5FGZA7O3T4UFA2PBU\">Late in Coldplay&#8217;s monstrous Sunday performance at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, frontman Chris Martin beckoned the crowd to spend five seconds sending their energy and love out into the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"X7P3FXBFTJEBBGLTL6SRZ3CYDQ\">After the audience of about 55,000 fans appeared to do so, cheering as they had all night for the UK pop-rock hitmakers, Martin quipped: &#8220;The thing that happens when you make magic like that is magic comes to the building.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"U5I5RUV7NJE4ROBXZKUZTQRY4Q\">From an auxiliary stage near the back of the bowl, he continued: \u201cAnd I have a tattoo on my arm which is because this person is my hero.  I can&#8217;t believe we get to say it, but please welcome Mr. Bruce Springsteen. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ast-oembed-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Bruce Springsteen at Coldplay New Jersey - 06-05-2022 - Dancing in the Dark\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/64BuszxY0NE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7JLH6GPMCZC7FE3IRSCHE4DBRQ\">And so Springsteen emerged, in a short-sleeve blue button-down and jeans, to jam a couple songs for the overjoyed Meadowlands crowd.  The night&#8217;s order was two acoustic numbers, first 2009\u2032s &#8220;Working on a Dream&#8221; &#8211; the title is printed on Martin&#8217;s left arm &#8211; with the full band.  Then came the more obvious fan favorite &#8220;Dancing in the Dark,&#8221; with just Springsteen, 72, on guitar, and Martin, 45, on piano, living a childhood fantasy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"MSBOPVJHBVF33OWCJLNTS4TPBU\">Martin has publicly noted his love for The Boss in numerous interviews over the years, essentially saying that Bruce taught Martin &#8211; leader of the most commercially successful rock band this century &#8211; to be a rock star.  He even offered Super Bowl advice when the band played the big show in 2016. Coldplay headlined two New Jersey gigs over the weekend, as part of their colorful \u201cMusic for Spheres\u201d tour.  Read our full review of Saturday&#8217;s show here.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"TLT4WY7F3NEN5C5O3LUQQQ7NNU\">Springsteen&#8217;s 10 minutes on the MetLife stage Sunday will hopefully be just a teaser of what&#8217;s to come next year, as Springsteen and the E Street Band announced last month a new 2023 world tour that will visit US stadiums next summer.
