BET + on Monday released a preview trailer for the upcoming special Martin: The Reunion, which comes amid the 30-year anniversary of the famed sitcom hitting the air.<\/p>\n

The 90-minute special, which is hosted by comic Affion Crockett, features original cast members Martin Lawrence, 57, Tisha Campbell, 53, Tichina Arnold, 52, and Carl Anthony Payne II, 53, on the set of the hit show, which ran from 1992-1997.<\/p>\n

‘We captured the Black experience,’ Lawrence said in the clip. ‘I was in the moment, we were in the moment.’<\/p>\n

The latest: BET + on Monday released a preview trailer for Martin: The Reunion, which comes amid the 30-year anniversary of the famed sitcom. (LR) Carl Anthony Payne II, 53, Martin Lawrence, 57, Tisha Campbell, 53, and Tichina Arnold, 52, are seen on the set of the special <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Arnold said the show’s enduring popularity is a ‘pure testament to our hard work,’ while Payne said the series ‘was and still is big for the culture.’<\/p>\n

In the preview, Crockett is seen asking the cast, ‘Can there be a Martin reboot? The people want to know. ‘<\/p>\n

The trailer featured a dedication to late cast member Thomas Mikal Ford, who died in October of 2016 at 52 after an aneurysm burst in his abdomen, as the four original cast members said, ‘This one’s for you, Tommy’ at the beginning of the clip.<\/p>\n

Also making appearances in the reunion include Tommy Davidson and Snoop Dogg, as well as Brian McKnight, Le’Andria Johnson, Reginald Ballard, Tracy Morgan, Marla Gibbs, and Sean Lampkin.<\/p>\n

Lawrence in February said in a statement that he is ‘looking forward to the reunion special,’ Entertainment Weekly reported.<\/p>\n

‘To be able to sit here thirty years later with this amazing cast that has had such an impact on pop culture is truly a blessing,’ he said. ‘I am always humbled that the fans still want more of the show and its characters.’<\/p>\n

BET CEO Scott Mills said of the show’s legacy: ‘Martin is one of the most beloved sitcoms in our community, both because it is hugely entertaining and because it played a pivotal role in changing the narrative of Black voices in entertainment and in culture through the portrayal of young, ambitious Black leads and healthy Black relationships.<\/p>\n

‘Decades later, that representation is still just as important, which is why we’re so excited to honor a series that put Black culture front and center on our platform that embraces Black culture everyday.’<\/p>\n

Martin: The Reunion is slated to air on BET + June 16. The show’s five seasons are also available on the streaming service.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
