That’s what happened to one man who was down on one knee to propose to his girl at Disneyland Paris when an overzealous Disney employee came out of nowhere and snatched the velvet diamond ring box out of the man’s hands. The employee then escorted the couple from the special spot that the prospective groom had chosen for that special moment.

The video that captured the moment went viral, and the reaction on social media to the employee’s actions wasn’t kind. special moment for the couple.

According to the New York Post, Disneyland issued an apology after the employee interrupted the romantic moment.

The woman, dressed in blue, covers her mouth in disbelief and seems overcome with emotion.

But the park employee in Mickey Mouse ears rushes the stage, grabs the ring and scurries down a flight of stairs, instructing the couple to come down. The couple, speechless, follows him as instructed.

“She said, ‘yes,’” the confused man tells the employee.

“Yes, that’s great. But over here will be even better, ”the employee responded as he motioned to the woman to step down.

“POS destroyed my best friend’s moment,” the user wrote in the post. “He asked for permission beforehand.”
