But for Odell Beckham Jr., a formal invitation to Sean McVay&#8217;s wedding was a mere technicality.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the Los Angeles Rams head coach joined the &#8220;I AM ATHLETE&#8221; podcast and shared a little insight into what transpired at his wedding celebration over the weekend.  Namely, that he had an unexpected attendee in the form of a star wide receiver.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<p>2 Related<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>&#8220;So probably the most stressful thing about this wedding was figuring out, all right, how do you get the guest list right where you don&#8217;t have any sort of interruptions or, you know, anybody having their feelings hurt unnecessarily because you got good relationships with guys, &#8220;said McVay.  &#8220;So I just invited the captains from last year&#8217;s team and then there was a couple other guys that are retired players that you still have great relationships with.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>OBJ fell into neither category, but a smiling McVay explained this didn&#8217;t deter him.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">OBJ really crashed Sean McVay&#8217;s wedding \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n<p>(Street <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IAMATHLETEpod?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@IAMATHLETEpod<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OKcyBFJRnN\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/OKcyBFJRnN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SportsCenter\/status\/1533994444957130752?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 7, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I love Odell and so only in Odell&#8217;s fashion could he be the wedding crasher at our wedding,&#8221; shared McVay.  &#8220;So O showed up, he crashed the wedding and I loved it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The coach added he told the free agent receiver, &#8220;You crashed my wedding, you re-sign with the Rams then, man.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As for the status of OBJ&#8217;s recovery from the torn ACL he suffered in the Super Bowl?  All signs point in a positive direction as the WR was tearing up the dance floor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One of our team doctors was there &#8230; he did Odell&#8217;s surgery, and Odell was looking smooth on the dance floor and he said, &#8216;Odell, take it easy man. Let&#8217;s slow down,'&#8221; said McVay.<\/p>\n<p>If the Rams were to re-sign Beckham Jr., it wouldn&#8217;t be the first big get for the team with ties to McVay&#8217;s nuptials.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about getting Aaron Donald&#8217;s contract done on Monday &#8211; the defensive tackle landed a $ 40 million raise over the last three years of his existing contract that will make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL &#8211; McVay remarked, &#8220;We had a feeling it was trending in the right direction when he was at my wedding on Saturday night. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Nothing like a wedding to bring people together.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sarah Barshop&#8217;s reporting contributed to this story.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>    .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>12:15 AM ET Tory BarronESPN Editor Close Tory Barron is a Bristol-based writer and editor for ESPN.com.
