NC State basketball made a statement with a 90-74 ACC home win over Wake Forest on Saturday. The Wolfpack were led by freshman guard Braxton Beverly, who scored a career-high 28 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field.<\/p>\n
NC State was in control for the majority of the game, with Beverly providing the spark for the Wolfpack. He was able to break down the Demon Deacon defense and get to the basket with ease. He also showed off his range, hitting four three-pointers.<\/p>\n
The Wolfpack also got a big performance from junior guard Markell Johnson, who finished with 18 points, five rebounds and five assists. Johnson was able to get into the lane and create for his teammates, while also hitting key shots to keep the Wolfpack ahead.<\/p>\n
NC State\u2019s defense also played a big role in the win, as they held Wake Forest to just 37.5 percent shooting from the field. The Wolfpack also forced 16 turnovers, which they turned into 20 points.<\/p>\n
The win was a statement for NC State, as they showed they can compete with any team in the ACC. The Wolfpack have now won five of their last six games and are in a good position to make the NCAA Tournament.<\/p>\n
