{"id":44031,"date":"2022-08-13T07:04:43","date_gmt":"2022-08-13T07:04:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/michelle-branch-arrested-for-assault-amid-husband-patrick-carney-split\/"},"modified":"2022-08-13T07:04:43","modified_gmt":"2022-08-13T07:04:43","slug":"michelle-branch-arrested-for-assault-amid-husband-patrick-carney-split","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/michelle-branch-arrested-for-assault-amid-husband-patrick-carney-split\/","title":{"rendered":"Michelle Branch arrested for assault amid husband Patrick Carney split"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<ul class=\"gnt_ar_sh\">\n<li class=\"gnt_ar_sh_li\">Michelle Branch was arrested early Thursday morning after a reported domestic dispute.<\/li>\n<li class=\"gnt_ar_sh_li\">The arrest came after reports of the singer&#8217;s split from her husband.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_img gnt_em_img__inset\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Singer Michelle Branch was arrested Thursday at her Nashville home on a misdemeanor assault charge on the heels of splitting from her husband, Patrick Carney of the Black Keys.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">She spent almost eight hours in jail before being released on $1,000 bail. <\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">According to the arrest affidavit, Metro Nashville Police Department officers responded to the couple&#8217;s home just after 2 am for a report of a possible domestic disturbance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Branch, 39, told police she and her husband &#8220;are having marital problems&#8221; and said she slapped Carney in the face once or twice during an argument, according to the affidavit. <\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Carney had no visible injuries, an officer wrote in the report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">In a separate interview with officers, Carney told police his wife slapped him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Branch was booked into jail at 4:30 am on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge, online records show, and was released just before noon.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Representatives for Branch did not immediately respond to USA TODAY for comment regarding her arrest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Police arrested Branch on the same day the singer confirmed to USA TODAY she split from Carney.  The \u201cEverywhere\u201d singer-songwriter married the rock drummer in April 2019. They share two children, one who is an infant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;To say that I am totally devastated doesn&#8217;t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family.
