Last season, Alabama was the preseason No.  1 in the Coaches and AP rankings, and entered the College Football Playoff as SEC champion and top seed before losing to Georgia in the 2022 National Championship Game.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The Crimson Tide should be No.  1 once more in the AP, but other threats aren&#8217;t as predictable.  There is one voter who excluded expected elite Clemson from the top 10 of his AP ballot \u2014 the Action Network&#8217;s Brett McMurphy.  He revealed his ballot this week and slotted the Tigers at No.  11, likely the lowest any voter had Dabo Swinney&#8217;s team, who we believe will be ranked inside the top 5.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>Per the AP, the weekly top 25 began on Oct.  19, 1936, and it is now the longest-running poll that awards national titles in existence.
