The Boys has been renewed for a fourth season following the explosive premiere of its third season, which debuted on Prime Video on June 3.<\/p>\n

Prime Video announced it had ordered a fourth season of The Boys just one week after the third season of the Emmy-nominated series debuted on the platform. The opening episodes of the new season attracted a sizeable worldwide audience over the first three days of streaming, apparently up by 17% from Season 2, and increasing by 234% from Season 1.<\/p>\n

“From our first conversation with Eric Kripke and the creative team about Season Three of The Boys, we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder \u2014 an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season,” said Vernon Sanders, Amazon Studios’ head of global television.<\/p>\n

“The Boys <\/em>continues to push boundaries in storytelling while also being relentlessly entertaining and threading the needle on social satire that feels all too real, “he added.” This stylized world of the series has incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that. We are immensely proud of the cast and crew that has spawned a franchise for Prime Video, and we look forward to bringing more of The Boys to our customers. “<\/p>\n

The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, and Karen Fukuhara as a group of non-powered vigilantes who take on corrupt superhumans and expose them for who they really are. The series proved to be a huge hit for Amazon when it first debuted in 2019 and has continued to entice viewers ever since. Showrunner Eric Kripke now plans to build on its growing success by expanding the universe further.<\/p>\n

“Speaking for the cast and crew, we’re so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most of all the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to make more,” Kripke said of the fourth season renewal. “We’re thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we’re living in. Also, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success . “<\/p>\n
