Soap opera star Robyn Griggs, who had roles on \u201cOne Life to Live\u201d and \u201cAnother World\u201d during the 1990s, died at age 49, a friend announced Saturday.<\/p>\n

Griggs was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endocervical Adeno, a form of cervical cancer, in August 2020, according to a fundraiser that was set up on Facebook.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories,\u201d reads Saturday’s announcement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will never forget how open she was to telling her story, and accepting of me helping her tell it. She wanted to help people and spread the word of her story to do it. \u201d<\/p>\n

Born in Tunkhannock, Penn., Griggs portrayed Stephanie Hobart on \u201cOne Life to Live\u201d from 1991 to 1992, and Maggie Cory on \u201cAnother World\u201d from 1993 to 1995.<\/p>\n

She continued acting in the subsequent decades, repeatedly appearing in horror projects including the 2010 movie \u201cHellweek.\u201d<\/p>\n

Griggs frequently chronicled her battle with cancer, which left her unable to work, according to the Facebook fundraiser. A Facebook update last Thursday said Griggs was entering hospice care.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
