The novelist was likely to lose an eye and had nerve damage in his arm and wounds to his liver.<\/p>\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph\" data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_422A2F3B-6A91-DE11-7692-9F666E6D72C6\">Hadi Matar, 24, of Fairview, New Jersey is accused of attacking Rushdie.
