Jets coach Robert Saleh called the hit \u201cegregiously awful.\u201d  And Williams got a talking-to from his coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>Via Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, Jeff Ulbrich told reporters that <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RichCimini\/status\/1559585577619652611?s=20&amp;t=7fy6ayKzOaCKzsqnHgtM7Q\" target=\"_blank\">he had a &#8220;long talk&#8221; with Williams<\/a> about the hit on Hurts.  Ulbrich explained that Williams needs to control his \u201csuper powers\u201d \u200b\u200bof speed and aggressiveness.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, all gas .  .  .  maybe some brakes.<\/p>\n<p>The deeper reality here continues to be that defenses are becoming more aggressive about physicality with quarterbacks who become runners.  Officials supposedly will treat those players like running backs in 2022, refraining from throwing flags simply because a quarterback takes a big hit.<\/p>\n<p>That said, no player should take a major hit once he&#8217;s clearly out of bounds.
