A Greek restaurant in San Francisco’s Financial District is rapidly becoming the go-to spot for NBA figures when they’re in town.

About 40 Celtics players, coaches and employees had dinner at Kokkari Estiatorio on Sunday night, ahead of Monday night’s pivotal Game 5 at the Chase Center against the Warriors.

A Kokkari staffer confirmed that the Celtics ate at his restaurant and called them a “really nice group of young men” who were “pretty focused on the game.” Unlike the loosey-goosey Luka Doncic, who was spotting having a daytime beer at Sens ahead of the Western Conference Finals, the source said the Celtics had “not much in the way of drinks.”

The long-acclaimed restaurant has family-style options, and the Celtics’ menu included spanakopita and lamb chops, among other things.

It appears word has gotten out in the NBA about the restaurant. Commissioner Adam Silver and ESPN host Stephen A. Smith (separately) had dinner there when the Finals were in San Francisco last week, and ESPN’s Mike Greenberg ate at its sister restaurant in Palo Alto.
