{"id":49713,"date":"2022-08-19T03:02:47","date_gmt":"2022-08-19T03:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/nintendo-is-actively-investigating-recent-claims-of-sexual-misconduct\/"},"modified":"2022-08-19T03:02:47","modified_gmt":"2022-08-19T03:02:47","slug":"nintendo-is-actively-investigating-recent-claims-of-sexual-misconduct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/nintendo-is-actively-investigating-recent-claims-of-sexual-misconduct\/","title":{"rendered":"Nintendo Is &#8216;Actively Investigating&#8217; Recent Claims of Sexual Misconduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"\">\n<p>Nintendo of America is currently investigating claims of sexual misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>A company-wide message (via Kotaku) from president Doug Bowser explained that Nintendo acknowledges the \u201cmedia coverage involving claims made about worker conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have strict policies designed to protect our employees and associates from inappropriate conduct and expect full compliance with these policies by all who work for or with us,\u201d said Bowser.  \u201cWe have and will always investigate any recent claims we become aware of, and are actively investigating these most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"article-video-container\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Nintendo has come under fire following claims that female contractors face a \u201cfrat house\u201d environment with sexual harassment and misconduct claims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNintendo was almost like a nightmare,\u201d one contractor told Kotaku.  \u201cIt&#8217;s sad because I love Nintendo;  I grew up with Nintendo.  I was so excited to join Nintendo when I first got there, and I thought I was going somewhere.  I had my supervisors telling me I was doing such a good job.\u201d<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"object-feedback\"\/>\n<p>Another claimed that \u201c[product testing] It really felt like a frat house sometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They reportedly encountered jokes about gender stereotypes and female characters who go their skirts flipped.  She alleges that when she complained, she was simply told she had to be \u201ctough enough\u201d to work in product testing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have had people act in a way that made me uncomfortable, then asked me not to go to HR about it because I&#8217;d be &#8216;misinterpreting,&#8217; making me feel guilty about my own discomfort,\u201d said another tester.  \u201cI never felt as included in things or as respected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Back in November last year, Nintendo condemned sexual harassment. at Activision Blizzard calling reports \u201cdisturbing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlong with all of you, I&#8217;ve been following the latest developments with Activision Blizzard and the ongoing reports of sexual harassment and toxicity at the company,\u201d said Bowser at the time.  \u201cI find these accounts distressing and disturbing.
